Harrisburg And Bankruptcy - Bankruptcy in the city of Harrisburg, Penn. is not something you want to see, but it is an apparent reality. Recently the City Council voted in favor of the municipality filing for bankruptcy protection.

The city of Harrisburg will file for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 9 of the bankruptcy code. The City Council vote passed 4 to 3 despite being previously rejected. The council felt it was the only way to move the city of Harrisburg forward despite plays by the State and the Mayor.
